The 2007 ASAF
Conference on the theme Asian Capital Markets –
The Way Forward was held on 23 November 2007 at Le
Meridian, New Delhi hosted by ICFAI University,
Tripura. Mr. M Damodaran, Chairman, SEBI inaugurated
the conference which was attended by about 200
delegates from various countries in the Asia-Oceania
region.
ASAF (Asian
Securities Analysts Federation) is the apex body of
societies from fourteen countries and territories in
Asia and Oceania, namely, Australia, China, Chinese
Taipei, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Iran, Japan,
Korea, Malaysia, New Zealand, Philippines, Singapore
and Thailand.
The ASAF
Conference is the annual high event in the calendar
of ASAF. It is hosted by member countries in
rotation and brings together eminent personalities
form the securities industries of Asia and Oceania.
This was the twenty-seventh annual conference,
following those held in Seoul (2006), Beijing
(2005), Tokyo (2004) and various other cities.
The Conference was
of significant professional and academic value to
the participants and the securities industry and
also provided the opportunity for collaborative
exchange among professionals across Asia and
Oceania.
